NFL roster cuts are never easy, and the San Francisco 49ers had a tough decision on their hands at wide receiver.
Among those cut by the Niners before the Sept. 2 deadline was veteran wide receiver Jeremy Kerley.
NBC Sports Bay Area’s Matt Maiocco was the first to report the transaction:
The Niners inked Kerley to a three-year deal earlier this offseason, meaning San Francisco will have to eat a good chunk of his salary. It isn’t as if the team is struggling with cap space, though, so this shouldn’t be much of a concern.
