The San Francisco 49ers announced on Tuesday that they have released tight end Logan Paulsen and placed defensive lineman Arik Armstead on the Injured Reserve.
This frees up the two roster spots needed for newly signed defensive lineman Leger Douzable and Tony McDaniel, who both receive one-year deals.
Paulsen, 30, signed on with the Redskins as an undrafted free agent out of UCLA back in 2012. Washington re-signed him to a three-year deal in 2013.
Unfortunately for Paulsen, he was placed on season-ending injured reserve at the start of the 2015 season and subsequently missed the entire year with a toe injury.
