SAN DIEGO –- Safety Eric Reid, the 49ers’ player representative, has shown support for Colin Kaepernick in recent days on social media.
On Thursday, Reid took a knee alongside Kaepernick during the national anthem before the 49ers' exhibition finale against the San Diego Chargers. He joined Kaepernick in protest against police brutality and oppression against minorities in America.
On Wednesday, Reid wrote on Twitter: “There is a difference btwn dividing & speaking on/pointing out issues. Kaep is doing the later in an effort to unite.”
He also wrote: “(B)lack Americans are 2.5 times as likely as white Americans to be shot and killed by police officers.
