An offseason without drama isn’t the norm for the San Francisco 49ers. The most dramatic part about this offseason for the 49ers was a defensive tackle—to be clear, one of the better ones in the NFL—being asked to take a pay cut, refusing, and the Niners being forced to replace him.
The foundation remains. The offense drafted receivers in the first and fourth rounds and drafted a lineman in the third who figures to compete for a starting job at right guard.
The San Francisco 49ers took a unique approach to their defensive line, opting for quantity in the hopes of it translating into quality.
