The San Francisco 49ers have received approval from the county to move forward with training camp, per The Athletic’s Matt Barrows. Rookies, quarterbacks, and injured players will report Thursday, July 23, to get the initial COVID test. The rest of the roster will report on July 28. The NFL’s Management Council sent out a memo on Monday that outlined out the testing procedures would work. Players are required to be tested within 72 hours before they’re allowed into the facilities.
Here’s what happens if a player tests negative:
- A first negative test means a player must quarantine at home/team hotel for two days
On Day 4, the player can return if his test is negative.
