Guess who’s back, San Francisco 49ers fans.
His two-game suspension complete, the Niners finally reactivated second-year linebacker Reuben Foster off the reserve/suspended list Wednesday — the move officially announced on the team’s website.
To clear room for Foster’s return, San Francisco announced the release of veteran offensive lineman Matt Tobin.
This alone should be enough to get 49ers fans excited:
The Niners sorely need Foster in the middle of their defense for a number of key reasons. Attrition has been a major one, with veteran Brock Coyle (concussion) on injured reserve and Malcolm Smith (hamstring) yet to play a regular-season snap.
