The 49ers on Wednesday re-signed one of their unrestricted free agents for depth in the defensive backfield, the club announced.
One day after a reported a deal with another veteran safety fell through fell through, the 49ers re-signed defensive back Antone Exum, who appeared in two games late last season and started one game.
Exum, 27, appeared in 27 games with two starts for the Minnesota Vikings in 2014 and ’15. He signed with the 49ers on Nov. 7 after the secondary experienced a rash of injuries.
