SANTA CLARA — The 49ers are formally granting NaVorro Bowman’s wish to retire from the NFL via their roster.
Bowman, a four-time All-Pro linebacker with the 49ers from 2010-17, was re-signed Monday as part of a plan to place him on the reserve/retired list Tuesday or later this week.
During last month’s organized team activities, Bowman made a surprising appearance during practice with his family and later announced his retirement plan.
