49ers re-sign Harris, place Redmond on IR

The 49ers on Monday re-signed running back DuJuan Harris and placed cornerback Will Redmond on injured reserve, the club announced.

Redmond, a third-round draft pick, is returning to action after his college career ended due to a torn ACL. Redmond played 20 snaps of defense and seven plays on special teams in the 49ers’ exhibition finale Thursday night against the San Diego Chargers.

Redmond must spend a minimum of six weeks on injured reserve, but he is eligible to return to action this season. Every NFL team can bring one player back to the active roster off the injured reserve list.
