The San Francisco 49ers continue to fill out their roster as they’ve re-signed cornerback Briean Boddy-Calhoun and tight end Daniel Helm to one-year deals. This will have a minimum impact on the salary cap and shouldn’t prevent the team from signing other players.
Boddy-Calhoun was active Week 14 against Washington, where he played 16 snaps total: eight on the punt coverage team and eight on the punt return unit.
Boddy-Calhoun (5-9, 193) originally entered the NFL after signing with the Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted free agent on May 6, 2016. He was waived by the Jaguars on September 3, 2016, and was claimed off waivers by the Cleveland Browns the next day.
