According to CSN Bay Area’s Matt Maiocco, the San Francisco 49ers have medically cleared two key defensive players for action, as second-year DB Jimmie Ward and seasoned veteran DE Darnell Dockett have been given the green light.
Ward, who was the team’s first-round pick last year, participated in eight games before re-aggravating his right foot in a matchup against the New Orleans Saints which required season-ending surgery.
Dockett, tore his right ACL in training camp last year and is looking to bounce back after taking 2014 off.
In other news, the 49ers also announced that second-year RB Carlos Hyde was removed from the Non-Football Injury list just one day after being placed on the injury report.
