49ers-Rams pregame: Sherman active; mourning Beathard’s loss

SANTA CLARA — Cornerbacks Richard Sherman and K’Waun WIlliams indeed are suiting up tonight against the Los Angeles Rams, after being sorely missed in the 49ers’ loss here six days ago to the Atlanta Falcons.

Sherman, it’s worth noting, is not rushing back from a hamstring injury just to reach a $1 million playing time incentive. Sherman said Thursday that general manager John Lynch assured him earlier this season Sherman would get his bonus, even though he’s falling short of a 90-percent playing time mark; he’s played 85.5 percent of the defensive snaps.

“So there’s no incentive for me, in terms of financial, for me to be like, ‘I’ve got to come back to get this amount of money,’ ” Sherman said.
