It’s been seven years since the 49ers had a real quarterback controversy, but those itching for that kind of drama with Jimmy Garoppolo may be disappointed.
While some reports suggest the 49ers may be open to changing quarterbacks and going with Nick Mullens should Garoppolo continue to struggle, general manager John Lynch pumped the brakes on that notion.
