The San Francisco 49ers today announced that QB Colin Kaepernick has been placed on the injured reserve list. To take his spot on the 53-man active roster, the 49ers promoted practice squad player QB Dylan Thompson.
In nine games this season, Kaepernick has thrown for 1,615 passing yards, six touchdowns and five interceptions.
