Linebacker Shayne Skov, nose tackle Mike Purcell, cornerback JaCorey Shepherd and wide receivers Eric Rogers and Chris Harper were among 13 players released Tuesday by the 49ers.
Also waived were offensive lineman Alex Balducci, safety Marcus Ball, tight end Je’Ron Hamm, defensive lineman Zach Moore, punter Brock MIller and linebackers Carl Bradford, Jayson DiManche and Wynton McManis
Those moves cleared the way for a large rookie class, as well as Tuesday’s official signings of veteran offensive linemen Tim Barnes and Brandon Fusco.
Over the weekend, the 49ers drafted 10 players, acquired running back Kapri Bibbs from the Denver Broncos and agreed to terms with 16 undrafted free agents.
