The San Francisco 49ers announced a pair of roster moves in anticipation to their Sunday home. Moves don’t seem surprising but the names are. They are promoting defensive back Tyvis Powell to the active roster (again) and waiving quarterback Tom Savage.
Powell has been in and out of the 53-man roster. He was promoted in late September before the Kansas City Chiefs game for depth behind an injured Jaquiski Tartt. He was waived earlier in October to make room for Victor Bolden Jr.’s return from suspension.
