The 49ers on Saturday promoted cornerbacks Marcus Cromartie and Chris Davis from the practice squad to the 53-man roster for Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons.
Kenneth Acker (concussion) and Keith Reaser (ankle) are questionable for Sunday’s game. Typically teams only promote players this late in the week if they expect those players to be active for the game.
To make room for Cromartie and Davis on the 53-man roster, the 49ers placed rookie running back Mike Davis on the injured reserve/designated for return. Defensive back L.J. McCray was placed on season-ending injured reserve.
