The San Francisco 49ers announced a few coaching promotions while in Indianapolis for the combine. Ken Norton Jr. was on the staff for about a week, but because he left to become the defensive coordinator of the Seattle Seahawks, a few promotions have been made.
DeMeco Ryans who was previously the 49ers defensive quality control coach will now become the inside linebackers coach. Johnny Holland will now become the run game coordinator and outside linebacker coach.
Ryans who played with the Texans and the Eagles during his NFL career was AP NFL rookie of the year, a two time Pro Bowler and a first team All Pro.
