49ers practice: Top things we learned Friday

SANTA CLARA — Veterans Joe Staley left home about 5:30 a.m. Friday, headed to the 49ers facility and met up with three other starting linemen before dawn to rehabilitate knee injuries. Their unified goal: to play in Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals.

What’s that say about the offensive line, other than they should get matching knee braces?

“Tough group. Tough group,” Staley said. “Guys made of the right stuff, wanting to be out there for the team and do everything we can to help the team win.”

“They’re beasts,” running back Matt Breida added. “I really respect them and I wouldn’t be in the position I am without them.
