SANTA CLARA – Five months since the 49ers first took the practice field for offseason workouts, Friday’s session offered a final tune-up for the regular-season opener, Sunday at home against the Carolina Panthers.
Here are the top three things we learned Friday:
1. Confidence in new slot man. Extra work in training camp is about to pay off for rookie Trent Taylor, the 49ers starting slot receiver.
“After practices, Brian (Hoyer) would always pull me over and make sure me and him got extra work together, because you never know what could happen,” Taylor said.
