49ers place Shayne Skov (knee) on injured reserve, promote Marcus Ball

The San Francisco 49ers made a roster move on Tuesday. The team announced that linebacker Shayne Skov has been placed on injured reserve following a knee injury in Week 12. Skov underwent an MRI on Monday, and it would appear results were bad. The team promoted defensive back Marcus Ball from the practice squad, and signed linebacker Wynton McManis to the practice squad.

The 49ers have had numerous injury issues this season, and their inside linebacker depth has taken the brunt of it. The team lost Ray-Ray Armstrong and NaVorro Bowman, both of whom were starting at one point.
