The San Francisco 49ers made some roster moves on Tuesday. The team formally placed free safety Eric Reid on injured reserve following a successful biceps surgery. To fill his vacant roster spot, the team promoted safety Vinnie Sunseri from the practice squad. Finally, they signed safety Marcus Ball to the practice squad.
Sunseri is almost exclusively a special teams player. Jaquiski Tartt will replace Reid in the starting lineup, next to Antoine Bethea. Sunseri could end up inactive this weekend, but if he is active, it will be to fill in on the back end of the special teams units.
