49ers-Packers TV ratings: Wow! How many people watched the game?

The 49ers made a statement Sunday night — and a lot of people across the nation watched them make it.

NBC reported Monday that the prime-time game between the 49ers and Green Bay Packers at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara drew an average audience of 21.3 million viewers. That ranks as the best “Sunday Night Football” Week 12 viewership since 2015, when Denver and New England met. It also was easily the most-watched prime-time program of the week on any network.

What makes that number all the more impressive is that the game was a blowout — a 37-8 49ers’ victory.
