The San Francisco 49ers announced the signing of wide receiver Chris Harper to the practice squad. Harper had mentioned it was going to happen yesterday, but he had to get from Massachusetts to the Bay Area to get the contract signed.
The Patriots signed Harper in 2015 as an undrafted free agent out of the University of California. He was cut at the end of training camp and opened the season on the practice squad. He was eventually promoted to the 53-man roster, and had one reception for six yards.
