49ers notes: York, Baalke offer support for Tomsula

SANTA CLARA – It’s not as if the 49ers were expected to travel to Pittsburgh and Arizona and emerge with victories.

But it's how the 49ers lost those games that is concerning to everyone in the organization. The 49ers showed the past two Sundays that they did not belong on the same field as those teams while sustaining blowout defeats of 25- and 40-points.

“That’s what bugs you the most,” 49ers coach Jim Tomsula said on Monday, a day after his team’s 47-7 loss to the Arizona Cardinals.

“Obviously, this is two weeks in row I’m coming here to stand in front of you, and we did not perform near to the way we need to or expect to.
