SANTA CLARA -- Aaron Lynch's suspension is due to end Monday, and the 49ers' outside linebacker is slimming down as he prepares for his first action of the season.
"He's been doing a heck of a job working hard and we’re (eager) to get him back," Chip Kelly said Thursday.
Lynch already was in the NFL substance abuse program due to issues in college when he had a test result that the league deemed too diluted. That triggered a four-game suspension to start the season.
Lynch went through the offseason and preseason as usual, but was perhaps a bit beefier than his ideal playing weight.
