SANTA CLARA -- Joe Staley has started 92 straight games at left tackle for the 49ers. Whether he plays in 93, however, is doubtful.
That's Staley's injury designation for Sunday's game against the New York Jets after he suffered a hamstring strain at the end of Wednesday's practice.
Chip Kelly sounded somewhat optimistic about the veteran left tackle during his Friday morning radio show on KNBR, noting the 49ers had two more practice sessions prior to the game and calling Staley's status "day to-day."
"So we’re hopeful, but we have two more days out on the field," Kelly said.
