The San Francisco 49ers don’t have a good offensive line this season.
But one of the few positives along the line in 2017 has been right guard Brandon Fusco. Signed to a one-year deal last offseason, Fusco has been, without question, the most-serviceable and consistent interior lineman the Niners have had.
The problem is he’s a free agent this offseason.

Niner Noise already detailed how San Francisco’s O-line, especially the interior, is a key weakness for this unit heading forward. In theory, the Niners could use four players here:
- a starting right guard
- an upgrade over Laken Tomlinson/Zane Beadles at right guard
- an upgrade over center Daniel Kilgore
- an eventual replacement for Staley
Replacing the 33-year-old Staley is a problem the Niners likely address down the road, not this offseason.
