Hard-running Tim Hightower has still yet to be corralled in free agency.
The Saints physical running back visited the 49ers on Thursday, but left the facility without signing a contract. Today, general manager John Lynch discussed the team’s interest in Hightower on KNBR. Hightower, 30, played for 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan and running backs coach Bobby Turner in Washington in 2011.
“We had a good visit with him,” Lynch said. “That situation is still fluid. We’re going to kind of reconvene today and see where we’re at on that. But we did have a nice visit with him … We know him well and we do like him.
