History under the York ownership says Kyle Shanahan has only two years left to get there. His contract runs through 2022 so that may buy him more time. Of the eight coaches since the Yorks assumed control 20 years ago, only Jim Harbaugh lasted four seasons with them; Steve Mariucci’s six-year run ended after 2002, a couple years after the Yorks took over from Eddie DeBartolo.
