The San Francisco 49ers didn’t come away from their 24-15 preseason win over the Denver Broncos unscathed on the injury front.
Most notably, the team fears it lost undrafted rookie wide receiver Shawn Poindexter to what could be a season-ending ACL tear. Poindexter needed to be carted off the field during the game, which would automatically remove San Francisco’s tallest wideout from the crop of players vying for the 53-man roster.
Head coach Kyle Shanahan provided updates on a conference call to reporters (h/t Niners Nation) on Tuesday, and had the following to say of Poindexter:
