If you were holding out hope for a win streak that would result in a San Francisco 49ers playoff berth, I have bad news for you.
The 49ers lost their 10th straight game on Sunday, setting a franchise record for losses. The team lost nine straight in 1978, and this team has surpassed that abysmal unit. This team is better in some ways, but it is still a franchise-record losing streak.
It’s kind of amazing how bad things have gotten. From 1981 to 1998, the 49ers won ten or more games in 17 of 18 seasons. There were plenty of lowlights from 2003 to 2010.
