SEATTLE - Left guard Laken Tomlinson and safety Jimmie Ward will make their regular-season debuts for the 49ers today for their meeting against the Seahawks at Century Link Field.
Tomlinson, who was acquired in a trade Aug. 31, will start in place of Zane Beadles, who struggled in pass protection in last week’s 23-3 season-opening loss to the Panthers. Tomlinson, a 2015 first-round pick, was inactive last week as he learned the offense.
“The scheme is a lot to learn,” Tomlinson said Thursday. “But I think I can handle it. And I’m going out there and trying my best to exhibit that on the practice field.
