Former 49ers wide receiver Jerry Rice thinks the 49ers have “moved on” from the national anthem protests that stirred a national controversy.
During an interview with CBS Sports, Rice was asked about the anthem protests that originated in San Francisco with quarterback Colin Kaepernick.
CBS asked Rice if he thinks the protests will “leave a legacy beyond what happens on the football field,” and the former 49er said the team has “moved on” from the controversy.
“I think we pretty much have moved on from that,” Rice said. “I think with Colin Kaepernick and his message of social injustice, I don’t think he meant to disrespect the military or the anthem.
