The second-year player made the "mistake" of reposting the announcement that the Titans hired Ran Carthon away from the Niners to be the team's general manager with three crossed-finger emoji. This caused some people to believe that Lance was indicating he wanted out of San Francisco in favor of Tennessee. As he explained to Quincy Avery, a former quarterback coach who had Lance on his radio show, it was all a big misunderstanding that even caught the attention of coach Kyle Shanahan.
