A day after Dwight Clark died at 61 from ALS, all members of the 49ers’ coaching staff wore T-shirts Tuesday from “Dwight Clark Day” in October to honor the legendary wide receiver.
For his part, head coach Kyle Shanahan had a personal connection with Clark. His dad, Mike, was the 49ers offensive coordinator from 1992-94 when Clark was working in the team’s front office, and the younger Shanahan often interacted with Clark while serving as a ball boy.
