Thirty-four years after Joe Montana was on the cover of Time Magazine for leading the 49ers to the first Super Bowl, another 49ers quarterback, Colin Kaepernick, will be on its cover for a far different reason.
Kaepernick, whose decision to not stand for the national anthem has been a national story for nearly a month, will grace the cover of the Oct. 3 issue of Time.
