SANTA CLARA — The NFL trade deadline is a month away, so the undefeated 49ers have time to weigh how far they’ll go to make a deal. General manager John Lynch indicated Friday that an aggressive approach is possible, but that they’re also equipped to take a more prudent, cost-effective route.
“Believe me, we sense that this team has something special to them,” Lynch said on KNBR 680-AM. “It’s very early in the year. But anything we can do to improve, we’re going to be aggressive in trying to do so, so long as it’s not mortgaging the future and it just going to give us short-term success and then hurt us in the future.
