The San Francisco 49ers received their latest in a series of brutal hits this season and offseason when it was announced earlier this week that Antoine Bethea was being placed on Injured Reserve, thus ending his NFL season. This was incredibly unfortunate. Bethea’s shoulder injury did open a spot for Jerome Simpson on the roster, but perhaps more pertinent to Bethea’s loss is the rise of rookie Jaquiski Tartt.
