49ers injury report: Davis sits out with knee injury

SANTA CLARA -– Tight end Vernon Davis did not take part in practice Thursday for the second day in a row as he nurses a knee injury sustained in the 49ers’ loss to the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.

While Davis’ availability for Sunday’s game against the Green Bay Packers appears to be in question, the 49ers figure to regain the services of tight end Vance McDonald, who missed last week’s game with a knee injury.

McDonald and wide receiver Bruce Ellington both took part in full practice for the second day in a row. Ellington, who has sat out two games due to an ankle sprain
