The San Francisco 49ers today announced that four-year veteran ILB Michael Wilhoite will be removed from the Non-Football injury list. Wilhoite who missed all of training camp due to a muscle strain will now return to action as he fights his way back atop the depth-chart.
Wilhoite was the only linebacker to start all 16 games last season and will now have to compete with ILB Nick Moody who has been taking first-team reps all while looking strong against both the run and pass.
However, the 49ers lost another inside linebacker as ILB Desmond Bishop suffered a left thumb injury during Sunday’s win against the Dallas Cowboys.
