The San Francisco 49ers announced the release of Zane Beadles on Monday, ending his two year run with the team. Beadles joined the team in 2016, signing a three-year deal worth up to $9.75 million. In releasing Beadles now, the team cleared $3.5 million in salary cap space, and will carry $583,334 in dead money.
With the release, the 49ers now have $16,413,210 in dead money on the books. According to Over The Cap, the 49ers have the sixth most dead money in 2018. OTC’s numbers are not quite the same, listing the 49ers with $16,399,237 in dead money.
