The San Francisco 49ers are one of the teams in conversations with Jameis Winston to be their backup quarterback, according to Josina Anderson.
Anderson mentioned the 49ers and the Los Angeles Chargers as teams interested in Winston as a backup, while the New York Giants could also enter the mix, depending on their talks with other quarterbacks.
San Francisco has only Brock Purdy on their roster for the 2025 season, as backup quarterbacks Joshua Dobbs and Brandon Allen are both free agents after signing one-year deals with the team last offseason.
