Per NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, the San Francisco 49ers have agreed to terms on a multi-year extension with general manager John Lynch. On Tuesday, Lynch said a new deal was on the horizon. A day later, Lynch and the 49ers agree to a five-year contract that keeps him in San Francisco through the 2024 season. Shanahan is signed through 2025, for what it’s worth.
That means the 49ers will have their head coach and general manager together for a handful of years. That gives the organization much-needed security, and both deserve it after turning around the franchise in a few years.
