49ers give up 100-yard rusher for NFL record 7th straight game

Congratulations to the San Francisco 49ers for earning a spot in the NFL’s Hall of Shame in Week 9. The 49ers run defense has been bad, and with each week, it gets more and more historically bad. New Orleans Saints running back Mark Ingram got over the 100 yard mark in the third quarter, rushing for it on only six carries. This marks the seventh straight game the 49ers have allowed an opposing running back to surpass 100 yards. And according to FOX Sports, that’s an NFL record. Here is how the past seven games have gone since shutting down Todd Gurley:

Mark Ingram, Saints: 112 (and counting)
Jacquizz Rodgers, Bucs: 154
LeSean McCoy, Bills: 140
David Johnson, Cardinals: 157
Ezekiel Elliott, Cowboys: 138
Christine Michael, Seahawks: 106
Fozzy Whittaker, Panthers: 100

Remember back in 2011, 2012, and 2013 when the 49ers defense prided itself on not giving up 100-yard games?
