The 49ers got a delayed minor victory on Saturday when the NFL determined the Rams were in the wrong for a confrontation between their sideline and San Francisco receiver Brandon Aiyuk after last Sunday’s game. The league fined Los Angeles $100,000.
Backed up at their 35-yard line with two seconds left in regulation, and down 27-24, the Niners were forced to continuously lateral the ball on their final play in the hopes of scoring a touchdown after time expired. The play was unsuccessful, leading to a San Francisco loss, and it ended with Aiyuk being on the receiving end of a particularly hard hit by Rams safety Kamren Kinchens.
