CHICAGO – Jimmy Garoppolo’s debut as the 49ers starting quarterback came with accurate throws, impressive mobility and, ultimately, a fourth-quarter comeback that produced a 15-14 win over the Bears.
Robbie Gould’s fifth field goal of the game won it for the 49ers, a 24-yard chip shot by the former Bears kicker with four seconds remaining.
Garoppolo was 26-of-37 for 293 yards, and his only interception came when Louis Murphy had a completion ripped from his grasp by Kyle Fuller for a first-quarter interception.
The 49ers (2-10) made five trips inside the Bears’ red zone and came away with a field goal each time
