The NFL's legal tampering began Monday at 9 a.m. Pacific time, and several 49ers veterans are likely to agree to deals with other teams.
But the first move reported Monday was an addition. Veteran defensive tackle Javon Hargrave agreed to a four-year deal with the Niners. The deal includes $40 million guaranteed, according to ESPN. Hargrave had a career year with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2022, racking up 11 sacks on the team that eliminated San Francisco in January. He was widely considered the best defensive tackle available on the market.
Interior defensive line was a major need for the 49ers, as both Arik Armstead and Javon Kinlaw struggled to stay healthy in 2022.
