49ers’ first training-camp practice will be an event

Is this an indication of a new era? The 49ers will make the opening of their 2015 training camp an event. The first practice takes place on Aug. 1 and will be accompanied by a high school all-star game.

The Charlie Wedemeyer All-Star football game presented by the Rotary Club of Almadan Valley, starts at 4:30 p.m., and it will then be followed by the 49ers’ first practice of the summer. Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for kids and are available by going to www.LevisStadium.com, or by calling 415-GO-49ERS.

Proceeds from ticket sales will partially fund the Rotary Club’s local charitable causes, in the name of Wedemeyer, who died in 2010 of ALS.
