It’s no easy task for head coach Kyle Shanahan and the San Francisco 49ers to trim a 90-man roster during the offseason down to 53 players.
But league rules being what they are, Shanahan and Co. were forced to go through this arduous and painful task in order to formulate the 53-man roster ahead of Week 1 in 2019.
The Niners went through an initial wave of player cuts on Friday, parting ways with nine players. On Saturday, before the 4 p.m. ET deadline, Shanahan and his staff finished off the roster cuts.
